Description

The course provides to students advanced theoretical knowledge and practical technology to prepare quality master theses based on systematic and creative thinking in science and ensure effective work skills in further scientific, professional, and social activities.
The purpose of discipline is study and practical mastering the basics of methodology of scientific research, the acquisition of a sufficient level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in scientific research and their efficient organization, preparation and publication of results of masters and dissertation research results in the form of research papers, presentations at conferences, implementation of scientific development a practical, real-world business projects and startups, educational process at the university.
Subjects of the discipline are processes of conducting scientific research in their various forms, manifestations and directions, functioning and use of the methodological apparatus of scientific research and their basic concepts, terms, tools, methods and means, gaining knowledge about the principles of organization and implementation of research activities in Europe and the World in terms of globalization and information technology.
The tasks of the discipline are acquiring knowledge and working out of practical skills on the basis of methodology, organization, management, financing of scientific research in the amount sufficient for use in professional activities in the field of economic and information systems, computer technologies, providing a thorough theoretical and practical training of masters, business, scientific and technical, innovative and inventive activity in a competitive market economy environment, globalization, integration economics with information technologies.

Subject learning objectives

After successful study of a discipline the student must be able to:

  • apply the basic tools and skills of conducting scientific research in their various forms, manifestations and directions;
  • use the appropriate methodological apparatus and the basic concepts, terms, tools, methods and means;
  • define and use the principles and tendencies of organization and functioning of the scientific-research activity in the world in a competitive globalized socio-economic environment and information technologies;
  • apply the learned receptions and technologies for independent preparation of high-quality master's works of sufficient scientific level.
Course intended learning outcomes

The study of the discipline involves the formation and development of students competencies:

  • the ability to use the general methodology of scientific research in the field of information technology, economics and mathematical modeling;
  • the ability to prepare, print, publish the results of research activities in printed publications, scientific conferences, the Internet, in the form of dissertations of various levels of complexity;
  • the ability to choose the means and ways of searching, obtaining and using scientific and technical information from a variety of sources in a globalizing environment based on the use of modern technologies;
  • the ability to apply methodological, organizational, methodological foundations, means and practical methods of preparation of master's final qualification work and its separate components and elements.

Topic 9. Basic approaches and methods of scientific research.

Topic 10. Models and methods of modeling.

Topic 11. Methods of theoretical and empirical research.

Topic 12. Features, instruments, tools and computer programs for mathematical and computer modeling of economic, technical, social and other processes.
