Graduate profile

The joint Slovak-Ukrainian Master’s Degree Program in Business Analytics and Information Systems in Entrepreneurship is a response to the contemporary needs of society. This program provides students with an in-depth understanding of the business context and technical developments that shape modern information and communication technologies and enables them to solve problems related to analytical work in the IT industry for career advancement.

Today there is a demand for professionals who combine competencies in the application of intelligent information processing systems and computer systems, the use of modern software products, IT technologies and technological tools in professional, in particular, entrepreneurial activity with the competencies of business analysts to substantiate and make decisions in management and business are a major trend in demand in national and international labor markets.

The program is taught in Ukrainian, English, and Slovak.

Organization of the educational process

The program consists of 120 ECTS (4 semesters = 2 years):

1 and 2 semesters students study at Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics – (60 ECTS credits)
3 and 4 semesters – Study Seminars, Industrial Practices and Internships (60 ECTS credits). Students attend the School of Economics and Management in Public Administration in Bratislava and the leading IT companies in Slovakia.

Form of study – full-time.

Requirements for applicants who wish to enter the Master’s program:

– Presence of the diploma of the first educational level the bachelor or the second educational level of the master in any specialties;

– Availability of EIT results in English;

– Availability of results of professional test in Computer Science.

Admission to the master’s program meets the rules of entry to the second educational level of masters in Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics

During the first academic year based on Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics with the aim of pre-selection of program participants by Slovak companies, the following activities are being carried out:

A) preparation and submission of the following documents:

– student summary in the form of Europass;

– video presentation of the student in English (up to 3 minutes);

– a form of self-assessment of the actual competences of the student;

– a scanned copy of the diploma and its supplement;

– photo of the student;

– Interview with representatives of Slovakian enterprises in the form of a Skype conference.

B) students who, after the academic achievement of the first year of study, have earned an average score of not less than 74, are eligible to continue the program at the School of Economics and Management in Public Administration, Bratislava (Slovakia).

Graduate qualification

The joint Master’s Degree Program in Business Analytics and Information Systems in Entrepreneurship is a two-diploma program, that is, upon completion of the program, one receives:

• Master’s Degree in specialty “Computer Science” by Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (Ukrainian model);
• Master’s Degree in Business Analytics and Information Systems in Entrepreneurship from the School of Economics and Management in Public Administration in Bratislava (European model).

Practical skills

           The graduate of the Master’s program “BUSINESS ANALYTICS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP” can:

• to use IT technologies, programming languages, technological means of their use in professional activity and in carrying out professional tasks of different level of complexity;
• identify trends in the development of socio-economic phenomena and processes, simulate their relationship using a system of factor indicators;
• plan and manage specialized projects of various sizes;
• use intelligent information processing systems and computerized decision support systems;
• to apply modern software products, IT technologies and technical means in the professional activity of the IT expert;
• to use information technologies for statistical substantiation of business decision-making, administration, and management;
• determine the relationship and comparison of the parameters that synthesize them into a single integrated information system;
• to present the results of the conducted researches in the form of analytical reports, research work using modern methods of material visualization.

Additional knowledge and skills:

• demonstrate a high level of self-reliance, ability to take initiative and formulate their approach to solving problems;
• responsibility for making and implementing individual and collective decisions, as well as decisions under uncertainty;
• ability to independently learn new research methods, acquire knowledge and skills to identify tools for improving project development;
• ability to develop decision-making tasks in specific research and practical situations;
• ability to constantly develop their educational level and readiness for further education at the next level following the chosen specialization and professional development.

Career

Upon completion of the program, graduates may occupy the positions of Business Analysis Expert, E-Business Developer, Information Systems Manager, Programmer, Information Security Analyst, Information Security Manager, IT Project Manager, Software Architect, Software Quality and Testing Specialist security, systems analyst, business analyst, data management expert, mobile behavior analyst.
